This Privacy Policy explains what information Chingu ("we", "us") collects when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.
Conversation content. The messages you type or speak are sent to our servers and forwarded to our AI model provider to generate responses. Voice input is transcribed in your browser; we receive the resulting text, not your audio.
Usage data stored on your device. Your daily free-message count and Pro status are stored in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. We never receive or store your card details. If you use "Restore purchase", we use the email you provide solely to check your subscription status with Paddle; we do not store it.
We do not require account registration, collect precise location, or sell personal data. We do not use advertising trackers.
We use conversation content solely to provide the Service (generating tutor responses, corrections, and hints) and to maintain safety and reliability. We may review aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to improve the product.
We share data only with processors necessary to run the Service: our AI model provider (conversation text, to generate responses), our hosting provider (to operate the website), and Paddle (payments). Each processor handles data under its own privacy terms and our instructions.
Conversations are processed transiently to generate responses and are not stored in a database by us. Server logs (which may include error diagnostics) are retained briefly for security and debugging, then deleted. Data on your device persists until you clear your browser storage.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on your location (including under GDPR and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we store almost nothing about you, most requests can be satisfied by clearing your browser storage; for anything else, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable period.
We use HTTPS for all traffic and industry-standard safeguards on our servers. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we design the Service to minimize the data that could be exposed.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
